Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF)
in Washington and Hancock counties
September 19, 2016
Dear Community Partners:
We were notified by our granting agency that our homeless veteran's program funding will end on 9/30/16. It has been a great program and we have helped more than 200 veterans and their families who were experiencing homelessness or were at imminent risk of homelessness, in Hancock and Washington counties during the 3 years we had the grant. Unfortunately, we were a sub-contractor for a national organization that lost the funding so the needs of our area and the merits of our program were not taken into consideration.
Our SSVF staff are now working diligently to transfer active cases to the Preble Street Resource Center which also operates an SSVF program. We have developed a great working relationship with Preble Street over the last few years and feel confident that they will do their best to meet the needs of veterans in our service area. We also hope to keep helping although on a more limited basis through our other programs.
If you become aware of any homeless veterans, or veterans needing assistance to maintain their housing, please contact Preble Street Resource Center directly. Their call in line is 1-800-377-5709.
Please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or 610-5903 with any questions.
