Hancock County Child Abuse and Neglect Council
Parent Education
Hancock County Child Abuse and Neglect Council (CAN Council) offers several styles of parenting classes throughout the year. These classes provide parents with knowledge and skills to better provide for and nurture their children.
Classes include:
- Active Parenting First Five Years
- Active Parenting 4th Edition
- Nurturing Parents
- Nurturing Fathers
- Nurturing Parents through Substance Use Treatment and Recovery
- Safe Sleep
- Period of PURPLE Crying
The class schedule will be posted under Current Events on the DCP home page.
Classes are also available by arrangement at any time of the year.
Provider Services
Hancock County CAN Council offers training to providers in Mandated Reporter Training, Safe Sleep, Period of PURPLE Crying and Strengthening Maine Families.
Classes may be arranged to suit the needs of the provider.
Community Awareness
Hancock County CAN Council will hold events throughout the year to bring awareness of child abuse and neglect to the community. If you would like to talk to us about appearing at your event, please contact us as outlined below.
