Small Business Assistance Programs and Information

The mission of Down East Business Alliance is to help create jobs in eastern Maine by helping people start and grow small businesses. We provide workshops, one-on-one business counseling, and networking opportunities to businesses that qualify for our programs.

Incubator Without Walls (IWW) Small Business Training Program

Down East Business Alliance's Incubator Without Walls series encourages for-profit business owners to operate their businesses from their own locations while participating in valuable business training.

Micro-Entrepreneur's Handbook

The handbook is a combination Resource Guide and Directory of small businesses in Down East Maine who have been through the Incubator Without Walls program.

Asset Formation Program

Asset Formation includes programs that build wealth and assets.

Farm to Market

Down East Business Alliance is engaging farmers and farmers' market managers in a professional development program offering training, technical assistance, educational and networking opportunities to enhance professional development and expand markets.

Job Start Loans

Loans up to $10,000 to start or expand a small business. Interest rate is Prime plus 1%, with no loan origination fees.

Economic Development Match Loans

These loans help businesses get loans of up to $50,000 to match other funding they can access.
