Car Person

Washington Hancock Community Agency (WHCA) operates a small program where we repair donated cars for sale to pre-qualified, low income individuals and families who need the car for work or to get to medical appointments. We are looking for an individual to oversee the program which involves everything from getting the car repaired to encouraging donations. The best applicants will have a love of all things car related and a desire to use their time helping low income people acquire low cost, reliable vehicles. Hours are part-time and flexible and may include the use of a vehicle. This is a great opportunity for someone that has had a career in the automobile industry and wants to put that experience to good use. Development Assistant

We are seeking a creative, energetic and committed individual to serve as the Development Assistant. This person will be responsible for a variety of tasks including marketing and communications, maintaining the Agency's web page, grant writing, donor relations, and publications. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree, strong computer and writing skills and a demonstrated interest in assisting low income people. The position is full time with benefits but a reduced schedule will be considered for the right candidate.

Part-time Drivers

We are seeking part-time drivers to join its transportation operations in Hancock County, including the Ellsworth/MDI/Blue Hill area.  Candidate must have clean driving record, pass criminal and child protective background checks, meet drug and alcohol testing requirements, and not have an active record on the System for Award Management (SAM) website.
